Doris was born on December 24, 1966, at the Calgary General Hospital to proud parents the Late Ronald Cutter and Mary Standing Alone (nee Eagle Speaker). She resided with her parents in Siksika from birth to 1972 when mom moved back home to the Blood Reserve. She attended the Siksika, Standoff, Fort Macleod, and Lethbridge elementary schools. Then moved on to Junior High in Old’s and completed grade 7 at St Mary’s High School on the Blood Reserve. Doris upgraded at St. Mary’s High School and completed Life skills courses on the Blood Reserve. She also attended Bow Valley College in her later years receiving certificates and awards as she continued her education. In her younger years she was an adventurous child always out and about exploring. She knew all the fishing holes, secret berry bush spots and backroads. She was a fancy dancer and enjoyed riding horses and spending time with cousins. She also spent a lot of time at Uncle Bernard & Joseph WML homes where they would play bucking barrel. Doris learned to barrel race with Anita (Twinks)MT. All her cousins liked to toughen her up on the barrel because she was feisty and wasn’t one to give in or give up. Her cousin Tara RC would pick her up on her horse and they would be gone most of the day on their own adventures out by the St. Marys Dam.

When her three younger girls began to dance, Doris and Leslie were happy to support their girls. They followed the powwow trail with her mom Mary, and Uncle Charlie in tow. Doris was never a home body and liked to be on the go even if it was just around the city. They never failed to have a backpack full snacks, lunches, and other fun stuff. She loved to cruise and preferred a clean home. She was a very loving person and mother to all her nieces and nephews. If you needed a safe place to go or someone to talk to, she was your person. She was fun, she was welcoming and caring to everyone and was never one to turn anyone away.

Mom was all about family and enjoyed spending time with her girls and grandbabies. Doris liked to dress up and attend the different community events in and around Calgary with her children. We are going to miss all those days we would come home to her hugs and smiles. Gone are the days when we would go through all her interesting and hidden treasures displayed throughout her room. She would always make time to play with the things we found in her room or just sit around the living room and reminisce as a family. Doris’s hobbies included sewing, beading, coloring, going for walks, being outdoors, singing and visiting with friends and family. She truly was one of a kind and her charismatic and fun-loving spirit will be missed. Doris was predeceased by Mother Mary Standing Alone (nee Eagle Speaker), Father Ronald Cutter. Sister Delores Standing Alone (Fred Weasel Head). Sister in-law Lorna Standing Alone. Infant brother Ronald James Cutter.
