LORNA WINNIFRED BROWN (née Moore)

December 7, 1917 – January 12, 2022

Our beloved mother, Lorna, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritans West Highlands, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the age of 104 years.

Left with cherished memories are her six children: Barry (Mary-Lou) of Oakville, ON; George (Vicki) of Calgary; Adair Close (Robert) of Victoria, BC; Terry (Gail) of Northhampton, UK; Trevor of Victoria, BC; and Bonnie Jean of Lethbridge. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren

and 15 great-grandchildren.

Lorna was predeceased in February 1999, by her loving husband, George, a well-known broadcaster with CJOC (Lethbridge) and CFAC (Calgary), and host of Musical Memories, after 57 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by an infant granddaughter, Meaghan, in

1977.

Mom was born and raised in Lethbridge, but lived in Calgary from 1952 to 1972, during her prime child-raising years. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed weaving on her loom. She especially loved gardening (her rose garden was her pride and joy), a good cup of tea and crossword puzzles. She was able to live on her own in the house her father built, until she was over 100. She was also very proud to be a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

We thank the staff at West Highlands Centre for their loving care of our mom over the past year.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date, with Interment at Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.

In memory of Lorna, donations may be made to the Salvation Army (salvationarmy.ca/donations/) or Southminster United Church (https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/lethbridge-southminster-united-church)
