Bradly “Brad” VanderHeide

1976 – 2022

Bradly Stephen VanderHeide of Lethbridge passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the age of 46 from complications related to a rare and highly aggressive form of Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).

Brad will be remembered as a man of faith who loved his family that always had a mischievous twinkle in his eye. After successfully completing his Business Administration Diploma at Lethbridge College, Brad became the President of Carefree Kitchens and Lighting, proudly carrying on the business his father started more than 40 years ago. He loved his business and used his position to give back to his community whenever he could. In his free time, you might find Brad out on the open road with his motorcycle, at the Canmore Highland Games (a tradition that started in 2005), on the golf course, playing a game of soccer, or setting up a friendly game of poker. Brad was a talented pianist who was known to get up on stage and show his skills at dueling pianos.

Brad’s biggest accomplishment, and the one he loved the most was his children. His smile was always a little bigger and his eyes sparkled a little more when he was with them. Brad’s love for Alina, Amber and Gavin will stay in their hearts forever.

Brad is survived by his children, Alina, Amber, and Gavin; parents, Beth and Ben VanderHeide; brother Shaun VanderHeide (Melissa); sister Sandy MacDonald (Dustin); nieces and nephews Kinley and Dexter MacDonald, Felix and Aubree VanderHeide; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his former wife, Amanda Veldhuizen.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Averil and Nicodemus Geiger, Pim and Fred VanderHeide, and his uncles Stanton Geiger and Gerald Gorrill.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at TRINITY REFORMED CHURCH , 1100 40 Ave North, Lethbridge, Alberta.

A private family Graveside Service will be held prior.

Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you consider a donation in Brad’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories, #40, 1202 2 Ave S, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 0E3.
