Mr. Darrell Russell of Lethbridge, passed away suddenly in Lethbridge on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the age of 40 years.

Darrell was born in Lethbridge and lived here most of his life. He attended school in Lethbridge and excelled at many physical activities, including soccer (his team became the provincial champs). He received the Award of Excellence for fitness from the Government of Canada. He was also on the wrestling team in High School and enjoyed Arm Wrestling where he got 2nd place in the Alberta Provincial Championships.

Darrell lived in Edmonton in his early 20’s where he worked as a pipe layer, he returned to Lethbridge at the age of 27 and continued to work at various jobs, pipe layer, motorman, roofer and road construction. He was a hard worker and well respected by his fellow employees.

Darrell loved camping, boating, cribbage, dogs and spending time with family. He liked working out and swimming to keep in shape.

Darrell struggled with addictions in his life. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his family.

Darrell is survived by his partner Angela Harrison; 2 sons Dallas, Nicholas; stepdaughter Ciara; parents David and Charlyne; sister Chanell (Tanner) Bengry; nephew Cayden; niece Alexa; grandmothers Lillian Karras-Lerner, Loanne Karras; grandfather Duke Russell (Shirley Fisher) as well as many extended family members.

Darrell was predeceased by his grandfathers Charles Karras, Herb Lerner and his grandmother Phyllis Russell.

Darrell will be lovingly remembered by close family and friends in a private celebration of his life.

    Our sincere sympathy in the sudden passing of Darrell. We ran into him about a month ago and had a nice visit with him. It is always difficult to lose our loved ones, especially at such a young age. May fond memories comfort you.
