He was born on October 3, 1946 in Taber, but lived the majority of his life between Vauxhall and Retlaw, where he met his wife of forty four years, Terry Culver Franz.  In 1970, Ken began working for Vauxhall Foods, now Prairie Gold Produce, only leaving his position as a Production Manager after his stroke in 2009. Even after his time away from the plant, his relationships with his previous coworkers remained steadfast. Following his stroke, Ken and Terry travelled to Halifax, Nova Scotia to attend Dalhousie University’s Aphasia Program. This attributed to Ken’s ability to continue living a very fulfilling life. Throughout the years he enjoyed competing in black powder shooting, listening to ZZ Top and contributing to the Retlaw Historical Society including his countless dedicated hours to the restoration of the Retlaw Union/United Church.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Ken’s name may be made directly to the Retlaw Historical Society, in care of Box 25, Vauxhall, Alberta T0K 2K0.
