DOUGLAS INGLIS and JENNY GUSSE
Douglas Inglis and Jenny Gusse died tragically in Banff National Park along with their beloved dog Tris on September 29th, 2023.
Jenny and Doug loved the environment whether it be their daily walks, week long treks, paddling Canada’s rivers or gardening. They strived to ensure they left the smallest footprint possible on their beloved earth.
They worked together at the Lethbridge Research and Development Centre for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and are described as a formidable team in science who leave a lasting legacy, not only in research, but also in the training of new scientists.
Doug and Jenny are survived by Jenny’s mother, Erika; her sisters, Cathy (Peter Taylder) and Christine (Murray) Jonasson; nieces Asia, Joy and May and nephew Erik, Doug’s brothers, Robert and Kevin (Grace); and sister, Colleen (Josh Chernov); and nieces, Solena and Saesha.
Doug also had a special connection with his uncle Colin (Linda); cousins Aidan (Lindsay) and Calaine.  Colin was at times like a brother but more importantly a life long friend.
Donations of remembrance may be made to an enduring legacy in memory of Doug Inglis and Jenny Gusse.  The family has initiated a University of Lethbridge endowment fund to sustain an Annual Student Award in their names.  The award will be used to support undergraduate students interested in scientific research.
