GAYLE CONN 1946 – 2024 It is with immense sadness that we share the passing of our dear wife, mama, grandma, sister, auntie, and friend. Gayle passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024 with her family by her side.
Gayle was born in Regina, SK on April 12, 1946 to Edward and Ruth Ireton. She was the second youngest of five children. She played trumpet in the band and even twirled a baton in the marching band. She met her loving husband Kent Conn of Indian Head, SK while playing on the same bowling league and they moved to Lethbridge, got married and went to Las Vegas for their honeymoon. Married for almost 52 years, Gayle and Kent enjoyed shuffleboard (winning many championships together), travelling, playing cards, visiting relatives and friends, and spending time with their daughters and grandchildren. Her optimism, fun loving spirit and brightness will live forever in our hearts and be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband Kent; daughters Susan (Olivier) Conard and Kathy (Andrew) Gardiner; grandchildren Alex, Emilie, Abigayle, and Allison; siblings Ted Ireton, Loretta (Tom) Ball, Dan Ireton, and Tom (Emily) Ireton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by parents Edward and Ruth Ireton; sisters-in-law Gray McKay, Evelyn Ireton, and Betty Ireton; and brothers-in-law Doug Conn and George McKay.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610- 4 STREET South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
