BROWN Violet Alice (Ully) Brown passed away suddenly on March 26, 2024 at the age of 94, in Lethbridge, Alberta. Born June 9, 1929 in Barrhill, Alberta in her family home. She grew up on the farm there at Barhill which is near Picture Butte, and then moved to Lethbridge with her parents and younger brother when she was a teenager. Violet was predeceased by her parents Chriss and Martha Ully, her husband Andrew (Buck) Brown, sisters Edith (Ully) Church, and Mable (Ully) Taylor, and brothers Chris Ully, Fred Ully and Roy Ully and their spouses. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews that were her token children, great nieces and nephews and even great great nieces and nephews that will miss her dearly. In her younger days, she worked as a stenographer and then found a home working at Astro Insurance in Lethbridge, where she loved the co-workers like family, she worked there into her 80’s as she just couldn’t retire fully until then. She and Buck loved to spend time camping in the mountains with family as well as spending time at their camping site at Duck Lake, Montana where they spent a lot of time fishing. Vi often had nieces and nephews join her on weekends at her house or camping. She loved spending time with her friends and family. Vi had an affinity for dogs, particularly little dogs and would take them everywhere with her. She loved travelling, particularly her yearly adventure to Vegas that lasted many years with her sister Mable and Mae’s family. She was known to go try her luck at the casino in town from time to time, even just a few weeks ago. Violet Brown will be greatly missed by all who knew her. There will be a small private graveside service for her at a future date, as per her wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local dog rescue and/or the SPCA.
