VICKERS, Ramsay
Posted: April 11th, 2026 VICKERS RAMSAY VICKERS of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Marion Vickers, passed away peacefully with family by his side on March 24, 2026, at the age of 93 years.
Ramsay was born in Coalhurst on July 9th 1932, but he lived in Lethbridge from the age of 14 on. Lethbridge was his home, where he worked, raised his family, lived life, and later settled in at The View for his last years. Ramsay met his soulmate Marion Mossey while attending high school at LCi. They married on February 25th 1953, had 2 children, Debra and Jim. Together, they enjoyed 70 great years until Marion’s passing on February 12th 2024. Ramsay lived until the age of 93.
As a teenager, Ramsay wanted to be an air cadet, but instead, he chose to work to support his mother Jessie after his father passed away from a tragic accident. At the time, Ramsay was only 14. His first job was working for CP Rail manually unloading boxcars of cement. He was always a hard worker. At the age of 18, he started his career working for the City of Lethbridge, initially as a Clerk 1, and finishing his career as City Manager.
While raising a family, Ramsay and Marion liked to camp and enjoy the great outdoors. Most summer weekends were spent at Waterton, hiking different trails, fishing, and exploring the high lakes in the park. Ramsay’s favorite lake was Lineham Lake, the only way to get there was to traverse a small trail cliff that had a hidden corner, you had to straddle around it to make it to the lakes. Many hikers never made it due to the dangers, but for his family it was fun. Once you arrived, Lineham had 3 lakes to choose from, fishing was always amazing. Ramsay and Marion hiked and fished over 28 lakes in Waterton, as well as several lakes in Many Glaciers Montana.
Then in 1968 Ramsay started golfing. This soon became his second outdoor passion and both he and Marion became avid golfers. Live, eat, breathe, golf! For many years they both held a membership at Henderson Lake Golf Course. Ramsay played until he couldn’t anymore, he stopped at 89 years of age.
Ramsay retired at age 53. Prior to retirement, Maui was the vacation destination, while there, he and Marion enjoyed playing the various golf courses in the sun. After retirement, they spent their winters in Yuma. Together they enjoyed friends, golfing, and dancing, while staying at Rogers RV Resort. Ramsay and Marion were extremely good at dancing, together they loved music, and would light up the dance floor. Ramsay also loved to play pool, over the years he won several trophies, winning both 8 and 9 ball tournaments. Pool and Golf continued as passions until late in his life, and he also dabbled in cards, sang in a barbershop quartet, painted with acrylic paints, and always kept a vegetable garden at home.
Ramsay and Marion are survived by their children – Jim Vickers and Debra Kirkham. Grandchildren – Justin Vickers, Stacey Tompkins, Nathan Kirkham, Emma Kirkham. Great Grandchildren – Ben Tompkins and Amara Tompkins.
Ramsay will be missed but not forgotten. We know that he is now at peace, and will be dancing, fishing and golfing in heaven with beloved wife Marion.
