RUSSELL, Ronald “Ron”
Posted: April 17th, 2026 RUSSELL RONALD “RON” JOSEPH RUSSELL, beloved husband of Lorraine Russell, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the age of 91 years.
He was born in County Donegal, Ireland and came to Canada as a young man.
He worked for Woodward’s for almost three decades, and then spent another three decades ranching. He took good care of his cows, sheep, and goats. He was especially fond of his dogs, mostly Border Collies, even when they chewed through the seatbelts in his truck.
Ron was a great curler and lawn bowler. He was a master Bridge player and had many good friends at the Lethbridge Bridge Club.
After 65 years of marriage, he leaves behind his dear wife – Lorraine. He is also survived by his daughter, Robyn (James) and his son, John (Nancy). He also leaves behind his granddaughter Carlee (Joey) and great grandson – Payton. As well as his grandson Rory (Rheannon). Ron has one surviving sister Rita Roulston in Stranorlar, Ireland. He was predeceased by his other sister Joan Cameron and brothers Fred and John.

A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., with a tribute at 1:45 P.M.
