Mrs. Lucille Noella Lavallee-Schmaltz of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 17th, 2012 at the age of 81 years. Lucille leaves to cherish her memory six children, Angela (Bob) Mack, Claudette Haase, Maurice Lavallee, Carmen Duncalfe, Julie (Stewart) Daffy, and Pauline (Richard) Lagasse; two step children, Harvey (Glenys) Schmaltz and Virginia (Norman) Langlois; eight grandchildren, Clayton and Kevin Mack, Dean (Andrea) Blahut, Daryl (Vanya) Blahut, Lindsay Lavallee, Crystal (Tyson) Erhardt, Blair (Lynae) Daffy, Kristy (Mike) Duquette, and Darcy (Stephanie) Fischer; numerous great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great- grandchildren. Lucille was predeceased by her first husband, Marcel Lavallee; her second husband, Jack Schmaltz; her parents, Domina and Louisa Cayer; two grandchildren, Jason Duncalfe and Amber Fischer; and two sons-in-law, Ed Blahut and Rodney Duncalfe. Lucille was born on December 24th, 1930 in Verwood, Saskatchewan and was raised on the family farm with her twelve brothers and sisters. Lucille loved taking care of others and her nurturing and loving personality shone through in her work as a nurse’s assistant. She enjoyed cooking and dancing as well as the many family get-togethers that were had. Lucille was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed and always remembered by her family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at ST. PATRICK’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 238 – 2nd Avenue NE, on Monday from 1:00 to 1:55 p.m. The Funeral Service will be celebrated in ST. PATRICK’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH on Monday, September 24th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Long Vu, celebrant. Memorial gifts in Lucille’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society (Palliser Region), 401D – 3rd Street SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 0G8, or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 – 1865 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 1Z8.     Mom was a wonderful person. She was such a vivasious person who always will be known for her smile, good humour and kindness as well as her cooking. She truly will be missed.
