BRENDA DUMONT

Posted: September 25th, 2012

1957 ~ 2012 Brenda D. Dumont (nee Hines) passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, at the age of 54 years.

She was born in London, Ontario and was raised by loving family in Ingonish, and West Bay Road, Cape Breton. She graduated from St. Francis Xavier at the age of 19, and moved to Calgary, where she worked in the oil and gas sector for many years. She made her mark teaching and tutoring, and spent a great deal of time looking after those who needed help in Calgary then Kelowna and in Medicine Hat.  Brenda was passionate about many injustices and causes, and was a tireless advocate for Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.  Her greatest accomplishment was, in her eyes, raising her daughter, Lejla, from endless dance competitions, to personal development and educational pursuits.  Brenda loved her nephews, Jesse and Kiefer, like they were her own sons, and enthusiastically nurtured their growth over the years.  She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Norm, and their daughter, Lejla.  Brenda will be       forever missed by her twin sister, Pat Murphy (Mike King) and her two sons, Jesse and Kiefer;  always loved by her brother, Dan (Erika) and their family Yvonne, Daniel (Chelsey) their daughter, Emily;  and Ian.  Brenda will never be forgotten by her  youngest brother, David and his son, Zech.  She had a very special relationship with her numerous cousins, friends and of course her “Crohnnies”.  Waiting with loving arms are her mother and father.

“The stars are not wanted now;  put out every one.  Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun.  Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood; for nothing now can ever come to any good.”
