MARJORIE LOIS KITCHEN

Marjorie Kitchen, beloved mother of Laurie Kitchen passed away peacefully October 1, 2012 after many years of struggle with Alzheimer’s. Born Marjorie Baldrow at Shoal Lake, Manitoba on July 21, 1920, she moved to Brandon, Manitoba with her parents as a young girl. She married Jack Kitchen in 1943 in Brandon, moving to Medicine Hat in 1980 and to Okotoks in 1986. For the last 9 1/2 years she has resided at the Vulcan Extendicare.
Marjorie was a long time member of Bethel Temple in Brandon where she was church pianist, pianist for the Junior Choir and Sunday School Teacher. Most recently, she attended the Okotoks Evangelical Free Church. She was also a life member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. She will always be remembered for her hospitality and caring for others.
Marjorie is survived by her only son, Laurie Kitchen, and daughter-in-law, Laura, of 176 Woodbend Way, Okotoks (llkitchen@shaw.ca), and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack, in 1992, by her parents, Bert and Laura Baldrow of Brandon, by a brother, Harold (Bud) Baldrow also of Brandon, and by a brother Lorne Baldrow of Okotoks.
A Funeral Service will be held on October 5, 2012 at the Okotoks Evangelical Free Church, with interment to follow at the Okotoks Union Cemetery.
