Mrs. Violet Stock of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Mr. Adolph Stock, passed away on Monday, October 29th, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Violet leaves to cherish her memory two children, Don (Loretta) Stock and Fay (Don) Wessner both of Medicine Hat; four grandchildren, Mark (Christine) Stock, Robert (Kendra) Stock, Travis (Shauna) Wessner, and Tyrone (Monika) Wessner; ten great-grandchildren, Cameron, Courtney, Connor, Cassidy, Nevaeh, Sophia, Lucas, Kenna, Emily, and Benjamin; two sisters, Marjorie Jeske and Gladys (Edward) Miller; two special nieces, Jean Jans and Freida Hiller; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Violet was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Katherine Schmidt; her aunt and uncle, Gottleib and Rosina Boes; four brothers; and six sisters. Violet was born north of Irvine in the Clearwater District on April 6th, 1922 and because her mom died when she was an infant she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Gottlieb and Rosina. She met Adolph in 1942 and on August 9th, 1944 they were married in Bethel United Church. They lived on the farm south of Walsh until settling in Medicine Hat in 1955, but they continued to farm in the Clearwater District. Violet loved running her house which included cooking and baking. Some of her and Adolph‘s favorite pastimes were music, camping, playing darts, traveling, and casino trips with friends. She loved the company of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Friday, November 2nd, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Shane P. Andrus officiating. A Private Interment will take place in the Family Plot at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Violet’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
