1937 ~ FRIESEN ~ 2012

Mr. Gerald Jacob Friesen, beloved husband of Mrs. Ruth Friesen of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, December 5th, 2012 at the age of 74 years. Gerald also leaves to cherish his memory two children, Dwain (Geraldine) Friesen and Judy Friesen; five grandchildren, Amanda (Luke) Jorgenson, Jerell Friesen, Dillon Friesen, James Lague, and Geremy Lague (Ellen Chomey); two brothers, Jesse (Shirley) Friesen and Rick (Betty) Friesen; brother by heart, Pierre D’Amour; his special four-legged companion, Sadie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Mary Friesen; and one sister, Cecile (Roy) Kargut. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday, December 10th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. Memorial gifts in Gerald’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, 666 – 5th Street SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6 or to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6, 302 Broadway Avenue East, Redcliff, Alberta, T0J 2P0. Uncle Gerry’s larger than life personality and huge heart will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.
