ROGER HOUGER

1940 ~ 2012
The family of Roger Bidwell Houger announce his passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the age of 72  years.  Roger was born and raised in Comrey, AB., and attended school in the area.  He enjoyed ranching and farming all his life but took time out for hunting and flying in his spare time.  Roger’s love for animals was evident by the number of dogs he had over the years.  Roger will be forever remembered in the hearts of his sister-in-law, Marilyn J. Houger;  niece, Lori Houger-Limacher and nephew, R. Mark Houger.  He will be dearly missed by a number of very good and long time friends from the community where he grew up and resided.  He was predeceased by his sister, Donna Jean Houger;  parents, John & Victoria Houger and brother, Richard Houger.  The Celebration of Roger’s life will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012, at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, Medicine Hat, AB., at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Barrett Scheske officiating.  Interment will take place on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Comrey Cemetery south of Manyberries.  (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cooksouthland.com)  If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Roger’s name directly to the S.P.C.A., 55 Southwest Drive S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta  T1A 8E8 or to a charity of one’s choice.  Honoured to serve the family is Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta  T1A 4V4  Phone 403-527-6455.
