Evelyn Jessie Olmsted passed away November 26, 2012 at Eastend, Saskatchewan at the age of 84 years.
Evelyn is survived by her children Bill Olmsted (Rika), Bruce  Olmsted (Debra), Albert Olmsted, Daniel Olmsted (Maxine), Gordon Olmsted (Pat), Sheldon Olmsted (Maria), Raymond Olmsted; grandchildren Jolene Olmsted, Chivon Olmsted, Kevin Olmsted, Andrew Olmsted, Dustin Olmsted, Kaitlin Olmsted, Melissa Acton (Dan), Chantal Olmsted, Andreas Olmsted.; brother Jim Elder; great grandchildren Brooklynn Acton, Connor Acton, Diana Olmsted.
She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Jessie Elder; her spouse William Olmsted; grandchildren Sean Olmsted; brothers Andrew Elder, George Cunningham, Ron Elder and sister Betty Dormer.
Evelyn was born September 23, 1928 at Shaunavon, Sask. She attended school at Ridgecliff, Robsart, Shaunavon, Moose Jaw Normal School and Regina Collegiate. She married William David Olmsted on January 25, 1954 at Maple Creek, Sask.
She was employed as a teacher, Oxrat Ranch cook and worked at Cypress Park. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, United Church, 4-H,  and Robsart Women’s Institute. She was interested in playing cards, dancing, watching sports and travelling.
Mom was a strong women who loved children especially babies, worked hard and was community minded.
The funeral service was held at Maple Creek United Church in Maple Creek, Sask. on Mon., Dec. 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev Eva Stanley officiating. Interment took place at Robsart Cemetery in Robsart, Sask. at 2:15 p.m. Active pallbearers were Jim Saville, Dustin Olmsted, Robert Paul Hagen, Kevin Olmsted, Andrew Olmsted, Darcy Johnson.  Honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Evelyn’s life.
