1947 ~ PIOTROWSKI ~ 2013

Mrs. Mary Jane Piotrowski, beloved wife of Mr. Leonard Piotrowski of Manyberries, passed away on Monday, February 4th, 2013 at the age of 65 years. Mary Jane also leaves to cherish her memory two children, Sue (Gordon) Wudrich of Bow Island and Tim (Tannis) of Manyberries; two grandchildren, Taylor Wudrich (Kayli O’Donnell) and Barrett Piotrowski; one brother, Graham Ross; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Ross; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was predeceased by her parents, George and Ilene Ross. Mary Jane was born in Medicine Hat on April 10th, 1947 and was raised on the ranch south of Manyberries. She attended school in Medicine Hat and on February 5th, 1966, married Leonard Piotrowski. Mary Jane enjoyed the ranching lifestyle, horses, dogs, sewing and quilting. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. The Funeral Service will be held in the CYPRESS CENTRE, 2055 – 21st Avenue SE, on Friday, February 8th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend David J. Carter officiating. Memorial gifts in Mary Jane’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 – 1865 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 1Z8.     My deepest condolences to Mary Jane’s family. I bowled with Mary Jane for quite a few years on the “Bowling Angels”. She was always a joy to be around. Wed. morning ladies league was never quite the same without her. May you rest in peace Mary Jane! You truly are a Bowling Angel!

    I am very grateful I had the pleasure of working with and getting to know Mary Jane. She was a very realistic, and very positive lady. She worked hard in all areas of her life. She spoke so kindly of her family, and obviously loved them so much. Her grandchildren had a very special place in her heart. I always enjoyed our visits. We will treasure the beautiful blankets she made for Emily always, and fondly remember a very beautiful person who made them for us. My sympathy to all the family.

    I am remembering the fun and laughter we shared together; the things Mary Jane helped me to learn about sewing; cooking and raising kids…; but most of all I remember being made to feel welcome and supported when I most needed it…thank you.
