MATTHEW HARRIS

1960 ~ 2013
Matthew Peter Harris passed away in Medicine Hat on Monday, March 11, 2013, at the age of 53 years.  Left to cherish his memory are his brothers and sisters:  Rosemarie Kat, Stanley Harris, Robert (Sandra) Harris, Dave (Cryanne) Harris, Joseph (Carole) Harris, Herb Harris (Devie), Laura Harris (Harry).  Matthew is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and one great-niece.  He was predeceased by his mother, Janet Harris;  father, Stanley Harris Sr. as well as one sister, Marjorie Harris.  Matthew was born in Port Colborne, Ontario.  He had a great sense of humour and always found a way to enjoy life to the fullest.  He loved his family and was very supportive of his nephews and nieces for all of their accomplishments.  A Celebration of Matthew’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, March 22, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Barrett Scheske officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.  (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cooksouthland.com)  If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Matthew’s memory may be made directly to the CORE Association, 412 – 3 Street S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 0H1.  Honoured to serve the family is COOK SOUTHLAND Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4V4.  Telephone:  403-527-6455.

    Always liked to run into Matt.He was always so jolly and after talking to him you left with a smile on your face.

    Matt, I am so sad to find that you have left this world. Though it has been many years since we last saw your big goofy grin, you are always in our hearts. This world has definitely lost one of its biggest free spirits. Matt would have done anything for his friends and even strangers.
