Mr. Harold Congram of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Gwen Congram, passed away on Wednesday, March 27th, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Harold leaves to cherish his memory eight nephews, two nieces and their families; and close friends, The Dubeau Family. Harold was predeceased by his wife Gwen; his parents, Frank and Hannah Congram; and two brothers, Elmer and Eric Congram. Harold was born October 27th, 1922 in Redcliff where he was raised and educated. He married Gwen Evans on October 5th, 1942 and they resided in Redcliff until purchasing their farm north of Redcliff. Harold worked at Dominion Glass from 1946 to 1972 and also served in the RCAF during WWII. Harold and Gwen retired to Medicine Hat in 1995. Harold was a 27-year council member of the ID and MD (now Cypress County). He was a lifetime member of the Redcliff Legion Branch #6. He was also a member of the Redcliff Recreation Board, the Moose Lodge and Veiner Centre, and Past President of the Redcliff Lions Club. He was also a member of St. Ambrose Anglican Church. Harold enjoyed dancing, camping, and cattle sales. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:25 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend David J. Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Plot at Redcliff Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Harold’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society (Palliser Region), 401D – 3rd Street SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 0G8.
