LILY JEAN MAY 1930 ~ 2013

Mrs. Lily Jean May has been reunited with her beloved husband Mervyn May, having passed away in Cardston, Alberta on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the age of 82 years.

Lily’s memory will be cherished by her loving family:  one daughter, Beverley Henderson and her family, Kingsley and his daughter, Chantelle;  Brenda (Reg) and children, Christopher, Justin and Jordan; Michael (Jeanine) and children, Delphina, David and Bailey;  Cassandra (Dan) and children, Shakari, Destiny and Merida, as well as two special granddaughters, Lisa Vossler and Terry Neitz;  four sons and their families, Leslie (Dodie) and children, Jenny, Carrie and Brandon;  Gerald (Corrine) and children, Steven (Kristina) and Kevin (Erin);  Wayne and his good friend, Gloria;  Kelvin (Joanne) and children, Michael (Jamie), Mark (Michelle) and Faith.  She is also survived by one sister, Bernice (Pat) Potter as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.  Lily was predeceased by her loving husband, Mervyn and their beloved Sandy;  her parents, Emil and Dorothy Seitz (nee Stubber) and one sister, Marie Ibbittson.  Lily was born in Little Plume, Alberta on June 26, 1930.  Lily and Mervyn met at the City Cafe at a very young age.  They married when they were sixteen and seventeen years old and spent their lives working and raising their family.  Lily always kept busy doing things she enjoyed including puzzles, crocheting, knitting and gardening.  She also enjoyed spending time in coffee shops reading the various newspapers.  Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and again one hour prior to the service.  The Funeral Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Barrett Scheske officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.  Luncheon and fellowship will take place in the Cook Southland Reception Facility.   (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cooksouthland.com)  If friends so desire, donations in memory of Lily may be made to the Medicine Hat S.P.C.A., 55 Southwest Drive S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 8E8.  Honoured to serve the family is COOK SOUTHLAND Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4V4.  Telephone:  403-527-6455.
