SOPHIE WEISGERBER

It is with sadness that the family of Sophie Weisgerber, beloved wife of Joseph Weisgerber, sadly  announce her passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the age of 78 years.  Sophie was born to John & Katherine Ozechowski, on June 27, 1934 in Beavallon, AB., spending her school years in Edmonton.  She married the love of her life, Joe, sharing 55 wonderful years together.  The first 10 years of their life together was the purchase of a farm.  Moving many times over the years before settling in Medicine Hat in 1992.  Sophie was a devote Catholic and a prayerful woman and her faith was extremely important to her.  Being a homemaker, her baking, cooking and spotless housekeeping made Sophie stand out among the best.  She was kind and understanding of everyone she met.  Her flower garden was her speciality.  Sophie’s memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of her loving husband, Joe;  sister, Phyllis;  her two sister-in-laws and three brother-in-laws, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, John &?Katherine;  five sisters, Olga, Rosie, Annie, Alice, Jenny;  three brothers, Bill, Pete, Harry;  her in-laws, Mike &?Barbara and brother-in-laws, Vic & Wilf.  Vigil Prayers will be recited at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 7:00 P.M.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road S.E., Medicine Hat, on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Father Philip Le officiating.  Interment will take place at a later date in Edmonton.  If friends so desire, memorial donations in Sophie’s name may be made directly to the Margery E. Yuill Centre, Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, 666 – 5th Street S.W.
