1929 ~ RAWLEIGH ~ 2013

Mr. William “Bill” Jesse Rawleigh, beloved husband of Mrs. Madeline Rawleigh of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, May 10th, 2013 at the age of 83 years. Bill also leaves to cherish his memory four children, Joan (Garry) Russell, Wayne (Wendy), Gordon (Leah-Ann) all of Medicine Hat, and Dale “Tex” of Fox Valley, SK; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Allan Sibbald, and one sister-in-law, Ellen Rawleigh, both of Calgary. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Jesse and Lela Rawleigh; two brothers, Ralph and David (Elsie) Rawleigh; and two sisters, Margaret Sibbald and Stella Rawleigh. Bill was born in Calgary on September 3rd, 1929 and was raised and educated in Bow City. He worked as a cat skinner before meeting his future wife, Madeline Hanson, in Tilley. Bill and Madeline were married in Brooks on September 13th, 1951. Bill then worked as a grain buyer for 37 years in Tilley, Drumheller, Fort MacLeod and Hussar before retiring to Medicine Hat. He was an avid hockey and baseball player and coach for many years and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A Private Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, with Reverend Dr. Shane P. Andrus officiating. A Private Interment will take place at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery.
