1922 ~ REID ~ 2013

Posted: May 24th, 2013

Mr. Keith Reid of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Ruby Reid, passed away on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013 at the age of 91 years. Keith leaves to cherish his memory three children, Blair (Judy), Marlene (Paul) Jensen, and Dean (Linda); five grandchildren, Tami Reid (Tara Ternes) and their son, Kaden, Jason Jensen, Jodi (Kory) Gach and their son, Brett, Dylan Reid (fiancé Ginny Lee) and their daughter, Fate and Ginny’s children Emma, Heath and Creed, Chelsey Reid (Tyson Ehresman), and Dylan and Chelsey’s mother, Carol. Besides his wife, Ruby, Keith was predeceased by one grandson, Brent Reid; and his parents, William and Emily. In his own words, Gramps lived a full life. He spent his early years farming in Saskatchewan and as a young adult, he served in the Second World War. Gramps was a proud veteran, a life-time member of the Redcliff Legion, and honourary member of the Elks, and worked at Suffield until his retirement. Gramps could captivate a room with his war-time stories and his declaration that his stories were as true as true can be. Gramps experienced many adventures with his blushing bride, Ruby. Keith and Ruby were always on the go. They were season ticket holders with the Medicine Hat Tigers, enjoyed fishing, camping, and endless rounds of golf at the Elkwater golf course. Gramps was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, overseeing his family and friends make sausage, and taking charge of keeping the irons hot at Reid brandings. Above all, Gramps loved to spend time with his family. He unconditionally supported his children and grandchildren and for the last three years of his life he was able to experience the love and joy of becoming a great grandpa. So sorry to hear for Keith’s passing. Our world is a bit dimmer and the heavens are brighter. I used to look forward to coming up the stairs at the Arena and he would be at the top with a big smile and a how are you tonight. He will be doing that in Heaven now. Condolences from Marlene and I.
