BARTH

Posted: May 29th, 2013

Cecilia Barth of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at the age of 98 years, beloved wife of the late Emil Barth. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Emil Barth Jr (Sheila Chizak) and Peter (Lillian) Barth; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters; her very special friend, Lorraine Givens and the devoted and loving staff at Masterpiece River Ridge. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Barbara Kopp and her husband, Emil Barth on May 29, 2005. The little general is gone. She was strong on principal, with a heart overflowing with love for her family. I suppose, by todays definition, we were considered to be poor but all I remember is a nice spotless home with a roof that didn’t leak over my head and decent clean clothes on my back. The music and dancing to a fiddle and accordion enjoyed by their many friends and who could possibly forget moms magic in the kitchen. Money was something we didn’t have a lot of but we sure had everything else that was important to a good and happy life. I know she loved God and I know that God loves her. Yep! We are going to miss our little general. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 2nd Ave N.E.) on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with the Very Reverend Fr. Long Vu celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
