EMES

Posted: June 3rd, 2013

Terry Lynn Emes passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013, at the age of 53 years, beloved spouse of Don Taylor of Medicine Hat. She also leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lyndsay (Barry) and Terry’s only granddaughter, Isabella, who was the apple of her eye, Craig (Becky Garrett) and Shona and her children, Rowen and Liam; her parents, Ted Emes and Valerie Hackett; two brothers, Craig (Marnie) Emes and Jason (Kristen) McDougall and her sister, Karen Emes. The family would like to thank Dr Weigle and all the nurses on I.C.U. for all their care and support. Terry was an excellent cook and had always had a menu to accommodate everyone whether you were a vegetarian or a meat and potatoes kind of person and she always had advice on how to re-vamp a recipe. If you were unable to attend a gathering, Terry would be sure to send you a care package. Terry always made everyone feel comfortable when they were in her home. If there was anything she had that you needed, she would give it to you. Terry was a very opinionated, straight forward person. She would bluntly call an ace an ace and a spade a spade and didn’t beat around the bush. Terry always looked forward to seeing her granddaughter “Izzy”, so she could paint her nails and comb her hair. Everyone who has met my mom would say that she has touched them in some way. Whether it be a meal or a cold beer, she was always there to listen and give advice whether it was wanted or not and she was usually right. Mom, you are free of pain and suffering. I love you with all my heart and I know deep down that you are an angel and will guide us down the right path. I know for sure, everyone is eating good in heaven! A graveside service will be held in the Hillside Cemetery onThursday, June 6, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Canon Gene Packwood officiating. Those wishing to attend should gather at the cemetery gates at 12:45 p.m. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association, P.O. I thought I’d try to reconnect to one of my cherished friends from my teenage years only to learn that she had passed away. Terry was an amazing fearless woman. She taught me a lot about life and could always make me laugh. My heart is broken
