Please accept my heart felt condolences albeit somewhat late. I met Jim through the SALH and interviewed him about his experiences in the war. He was fine gentleman from the Greatest Generation and will be fondly remembered. A short time after the interview he and Mr. Fairhurst came to my house to view my military collection I expressed concerned about the stairs to my basement where the collection is stored and displayed. He looked at them and said with grin…NO PROBLEM, just give me a minute or two. He hustled down those stairs in a heartbeat and joked how going back up might be bit slower. Well, it wasn’t for Jimhe jsut said get out of the way I am going up. We sat and had coffee that afternoon, and a wonderful visit. My thoughts and prayers go to the family. He will not be forgotten!!!
