1932 ~ WITTIG ~ 2013

George Robert “Bob” Wittig was born March 10th, 1932, at Burstall, Saskatchewan, Canada. He passed peacefully away on October 8th, 2013 at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital in Medicine Hat, Alberta. In this world his memories will be cherished by: his wife, Joyce (Angerman); daughter, Debra Harrison (Dave), grandchildren Ashley, Lisa and Tanya; son, Keith (Jody), grandchildren Megan and Jordan; daughter, Shelley Nagel (Doug); daughter, Leanne Waddle (Trevor); sister, Gladys Dieterle, sister-in-law, Pam (Gordon) Dorge; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, George Wittig; mother, Esther (Schlotthauer) Wittig; sister, Marlene Haas; brothers-in-law, Clarence Dieterle and Ronald Haas; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bob attended Alexander Plains School and Burstall School. He farmed and ranched in the Burstall area his entire life. Bob and Joyce semi-retired to Medicine Hat in 1985. They were active members of St. Peter Lutheran Church and later Victory Lutheran Church.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in VICTORY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2793 Southview Drive SE, on Friday, October 11th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe Leavengood officiating. A Private Family Interment will be held in the Family Plot at Hillside Cemetery, prior to the service.
Memorial gifts in George’s memory may be made to the Victory Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 2793 Southview Drive SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1B 2H1, or to the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, 666 – 5th Street SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6.     Dear Joyce and family!

    I happened to be going through the obituaries in Medicine Hat and was surprised to see that Bob had passed away. I know this is late, but you have my deepest sympathy for everyone involved. Thank God, we have the memories in our hearts of loved ones that we lose. And, later in life, those memories become more meaningful and one can look at the good times and bad, and still laugh about many things.
    To everyone, may God give you strength and healing in the loss of Bob.
