Eva Ilona Kondro of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Vodan Kondro, passed away on Saturday, October 19th, 2013 at the age of 88 years. Eva leaves to cherish her memory four children, Gordon of Medicine Hat, Gerald (Eunice) of Edmonton, Geraldine Friess of Medicine Hat, and Gwenyth (Raymond) Noel of St. John, New Brunswick; eight grandchildren, Kyra Kondro (Myles Partington) of Calgary, Brianne Kondro of Edmonton, Corinne (Brad) Tessier of Regina Beach, Theresa Friess of Medicine Hat and her son, Branson, Nathan (Alison) Noel of St. John, Jeffrey Noel of Churchill, Manitoba, Jeremy (Carrieann) Noel of Vancouver and their son, Eli, and Caitlin Noel of St. John and her son, Damien; one brother, Albert (Rossella) Ojala of Eckville, Alberta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Vodan, Eva was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Henrietti Ojala; and two sisters. Eva was a caring woman who loved her poodles and orange cats. She also enjoyed travelling and doing word search puzzles. Due to Vodan’s job, Eva and Vodan lived in many communities and enjoyed meeting new people. Eva will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Graveside Service will be held in SAAMIS PRAIRIE VIEW CEMETERY, 5160 Gershaw Drive SW, on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Philip Le officiating. Anyone wishing to attend the Graveside Service is asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Memorial gifts in Eva’s memory may be made to Brain Injury Rehabilitation Services, 770 – 7th Street SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 1K6.
