Posted: November 6th, 2013

Mr. Robert “Bob” Milton Baker of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, November 4th, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Bob leaves to cherish his memory his nephew, Ken (Jeannie) Baker and their children, Matthew, Ryan, Julie, Taisha, Susan, Gwendolyn and their children; Ken’s adopted sister, Kathy Dompierre; very dear, special friends, Larry (Tammy) Wall, Bill (Jeannette), Martin and Roland (Vicki) Press; as well as his four-legged buddy, Jack (Larry & Tammy’s puppy), whom Bob would spend time with while the two were away at work. Although he never did have a pet of his own he became very attached to Jack. Bob was born on May 12th, 1923 in Milton, Ontario where his middle name came from. He worked in the oilfield until pursuing a career in pipe-fitting and becoming employed at the Methanex plant where he worked until his retirement. In his younger days Bob enjoyed duck hunting and always took great pride in his yard, often getting frustrated with the pine trees in his front yard as they “ruined his grass”, he would say. Bob resided at Riverview Care Centre until his passing. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Friday, November 8th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I used to work at the Royal Hotel years ago and Bob would come in for a few. I saw him a couple of years ago now, i believe. He came into the Royal, and we chatted. It was nice to talk with him again.
    Rest in peace now…

    Deborah
