JACKIE MACINTYRE 1937 ~ 2014

Posted: January 21st, 2014

Jacquelene (Jackie) Lenore MacIntyre passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice on Wednesday, Jan 15th, 2014 at the age of 76.

Jackie will be deeply missed by her children, Brenda (Al) Gabel and grand daughter, Nikita; Michael Charette, granddaughter, Leah and grandson, David; Pam (Paul) Ryckman, granddaughter, Brandi (Jason) Coakley and great-grandson, Branson;  sisters, Eleanor (Ed), Grace (Steve), Linda (Rick), and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen Charette; mother, Ethelda; father, Jack;  sister, Jean; and brothers, John and George. Jackie was born May 31st, 1937 in St. Thomas Ont. She raised her family in Ontario then moved to Medicine Hat in the 80’s. Jackie was a loving mother but her grandchildren meant the world to her and would always take first place before anyone or anything. Nikita was the lucky grandchild because she was here with her and got to spend all of her time with her grandma and make so many memories. Thank you to the family and good friends that got to visit and call during this time, it meant so much to her. Jackie was a giving person and loved to can and bake, and then share it with her family and friends. Although she had a feisty personality, her sense of humour and genuine heart made it easy for her to touch so many lives. For the brief time she was at St. Josephs Home – Carmel Hospice, she made some special memories with friends (staff), and they might want to consider a new Christmas tradition (oysters). The family extends their most heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff, they certainly made a difference. Those who knew Jackie knew she was a no muss or fuss kind of lady, so in her honour, a Come and Go Celebration will take place at the Heritage Centre, South Country Village, 1720 Bell Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, from 2:00p.m to 4:00p.m. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www. cookcouthland.com) Memorial donations in Jackie’s name may be made directly to the St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice, 156 – 3rd street N.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 5M1  Honoured to serve the family is COOK SOUTHLAND FUNERAL CHAPEL, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4V4. I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of your lovely mother. She has been my next door neighbor for a little over a year now. She was such a delight to talk to. I have been in Az. for 3 months, and wasn’t even aware she had been sick. I shall miss her delightful chatter in the hall and fighting her to see who gets the washer and dryer first. May God be with you in this difficult time. All the best.
