Betty Dunn of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late William Dunn, passed away on Monday, March 3rd, 2014 at the age of 92 years. Betty leaves to cherish her memory two children, William “Bill” (Joan Thomas) Dunn and Sally Reid; three grandchildren, Caitlin Thomas-Dunn, Michael (Jamie) Reid, and Mandy Reid, two great-grandchildren, Mila and Sonya Reid; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her husband, William in 1972; her parents, William and Elizabeth Crawford; one brother, Jack; three sisters, Jenny, Eva and Mary; her son-in-law, Arnie Reid; as well as her partner, Willard Kirby. Betty was born in England on February 24th, 1922 and moved to Canada in 1953. She lived in Alberta, and then northern BC before settling in Medicine Hat in 1975. Betty loved to travel visiting England, Hawaii, California, Fernie and many other places. She also loved spending time with her family. There was nothing Betty loved more than a picnic, unless it was enjoying a cup of tea with her good friend, Glennie Dirk. She was a member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church and lived at the Good Samaritan Society for a year where she enjoyed the exceptional care she received from the staff. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Friday, March 7th, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. with The Reverend Canon D. Gene Packwood officiating. Memorial gifts in Betty’s memory may be made to the Good Samaritan Society, 550 Spruce Way SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1B 4P1.
