KEITH MERVYN BELSHER

Posted: March 6th, 2014

Sept 25, 1953 – March 2, 2014
The family of Keith Belsher (#49) are sad to announce that Keith passed away March 2, 2014 in the High River Hospital after a battle with cancer.
After marrying his childhood sweetheart Susan (Stitt) #120 in 1970, he jumped into the adventure of life. Keith was an electrician in Lethbridge for 23 years, then became a Lighting Agent in Calgary until his passing. Keith and Sue moved to their farm in 2011 near High River.
Keith will always be remembered as a man devoted to his family, a remarkable friend and a larger than life guy with a keen sense of humor and a great drive for adventure. He could always be counted on for a “Killer” joke or two or three. He loved nothing more than taking all of his Grandchildren camping and doing whatever they wanted whether it was play at the park, fly kites, float rivers, drive jeeps, etc, etc. Field tobogganing and road bowling were also favourite sports.
Keith will be joyously remembered by his wife of 43 years Sue. His son Shawn (#122) with his wife Maxine (#439), and daughter Jody Waddle #140 with her husband Ken #306, will forever be grateful for the amazing love of a dad they all cherished. His beloved grandchildren Shayne #289, Brooke #315, Elizabeth #321, Emjay #431, Kimberly #329, Ashley #433, Jaxx #434 and Elijah #378 will never forget the pure joy they shared with their adored Grampa.
Keith’s family, his Step-Mom Bev Belsher #128, sister Lorna Six #42 (Steve #142), sister Kathryn Schnitzler #102 (Leo #366) and numerous nieces and nephews will never forget his amazing smile, infectious laugh and incredible love of life.
Keith will be partying in Heaven with his father Merv, mother Edith, sister Gwen, brother in-law Leo Dextrase and brother Bryon.
Keith was also very proud to be a part of the huge glorious Belsher family. Everyone in the family proudly take a number upon entering the family with Grampa William being #1 and Gramma Maria #2 as of January of this year the number has reached 451. We come together every 3 years to celebrate this legacy of Family.
Instead of sending a pile of flowers, use that money to donate to the Twins Cancer Fundraising – “http://www.twinscancerfundraising.com/ . Keith was so proud of all ‘those boys’ have done for cancer that he’d be honoured if people would support their cause.
The family will gather for a wake at a later date. To express condolences please visit www.snodgrassfuneralhomes.com. Arrangements in care of Snodgrass Funeral Homes Ltd, High River. (403-652-2222)
