GARRY BOWER

1942 ~ 2014
Mr. Garry Norman Bower, beloved husband of Mrs. Linda Bower,  passed away peacefully with family at his side at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, April 18, 2014, after a year and a half battle with cancer. He was 71.  Garry was born and raised in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan where he farmed until retiring in 2000.  He and Linda then moved to Medicine Hat where Garry worked part-time for Schlenker Auction and enjoyed his retirement.  He took great pleasure in going for coffee with friends, spending time with his wife and children, and attending his grandson’s activities.  Garry leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Linda;  daughter, Brenda (Stephanie Martin); son, Kris (Deanna);  grandsons, Wyatt and Keaton;  brothers, Ron and Jim; an aunt Joyce as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  In honour of Garry’s life, an informal come-and-go gathering for family and friends will be held in the Cook Southland Reception Facility, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Thursday, April 24, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Private Columbarium placement will take place at Hillside Cemetery later in the day.  (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cook southland.com)  Memorial donations in Garry’s name may be made directly to the Jack Ady Cancer Centre, 960 – 19 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 1W5.   Honoured to serve the family is Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13th Street S.W.
