BRIAN RIEGER

1975 ~ 2014
With his loving family by his side, Brian David Rieger passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the age of 38 years.  Brian was born on September 2, 1975 in Medicine Hat and was raised on the family farm northeast of the city.  He had many passions in life including farming, hockey, 4H and spending quality time with his family.  His fondest memories were of combining with his son, Brody and cuddling with his daughter, Georgia – his lil’ calving buddies will miss him deeply.  Brian will be remembered in the hearts of his wife, Jennifer;  twin children, Brody and Georgia;  parents, Bruce and Donna Rieger;  grandparents, Edwin and Violet Rieger and Robert and Joyce Strachan;  a sister, Heather (Rick) Bach and their family, Madison, Shelby and Kailey.  He is also survived by Jennifer’s family including her parents, Bernie and Wendy Kemick;  brother’s, Justin and Kevin (Monique) and their son, Josh;  grandma, Lillian Crocker as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family of both Brian and Jennifer.  A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. with Diaconal Minister Lila deWaal officiating.  (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cooksouthland.com)  Memorial donations in Brian’s name may be made to either the NICU or 4 West of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital c/o the Medicine Hat & District Health Foundation, 666 – 5th Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6.  Honoured to serve the family is COOK SOUTHLAND Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4V4.  Telephone:  403-527-6455.
