Loring Adolph Piehl, beloved husband of Edna Piehl of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, September 13th, 2014 at the age of 90 years. Loring also leaves to cherish his memory his children, Darrell Piehl (Betty Carbert), Brenda Piehl and Loreen Piehl-Wiedemann (Barry Wiedemann); six grandchildren, Lloyd Piehl, Sarah Piehl, Jennifer (Ryan) Matt, Loring Wiedemann, Victor Wiedemann, Rachel Wiedemann; one great grandchild, Roan; one brother-in-law, Gordon (Anna) Brown; special friends, Debbie Ross and Leila Wright; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Loring was predeceased by his parents, Adolph and Cora Piehl; and two sisters, Glendoris (Eric) Haggman and Ethel (Ysbrand) Vander Linden. The Funeral Service will be held at FIFTH AVENUE MEMORIAL UNITED CHURCH, 476 – 4th Street SE, on Friday, September 19th, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Hillson officiating. A private interment will take place at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Loring\’s memory may be made to Carmel Hospice (St. Joseph\’s Home), 156 – 3rd Street NE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 5M1. Dear Edna and family,
I was blessed to know Loring and had so much fun on the days i was there every week. Thank you so much for taking me in like family, it meant the world to me.
Loring was witty, kind, gentle, fun and more. It was an honour to know this wonderful man.
May you all be blessed with strength in the days ahead. Hold tight to the memories, and to each other.
