1933 ~ BAUER ~ 2014

After a brief and unexpected illness, Hildegard Bauer (nee Ochsner) went to be with her precious Lord and Saviour on September 23rd, 2014. Hildegard was born to Oscar and Lydia Ochsner in Romania on June 29th, 1933. She came to Canada after the war and found her lifelong partner of 62 years, Marvin Bauer. They raised four daughters; Arlene (Don) May, Marilyn (Ken) Olfert, Linda (Norm) Wever, and Sonya (Kurt) Smith. The four daughters blessed them with fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Hildegard was an active member of her church and the community of Bow Island. She faithfully volunteered to sing at the Auxillary, led pioneer girls at the church and often taught Sunday School. From 1986 to 2013 she owned Treasure Island Products in Bow Island. She will be remembered for her incredible faith and devotion to her family and to her Lord Jesus. With great joy she introduced several friends to her Saviour. Hildegard is predeceased by her parents, Lydia and Oscar; and one grandchild, Angela. She is survived by her husband; her daughters and their families; as well as her siblings, Lilli Hirch, Harry Ochsner, Harold Ochsner, and Erwin Ochsner. The Funeral Service will be held at the BOW ISLAND EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 214 – 4th Avenue West, on Saturday, September 27th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Dye officiating. A Private Interment will take place at the Bow Island Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Hildegard\’s memory may be made to Compassion Canada, 985 Adelaide Street South, London, Ontario, N6E 4A3.
