Emil Wahl, beloved husband of Alice Wahl of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, October 14th, 2014 at the age of 89 years. Emil also leaves to cherish his memory his children: Eddie; Ingrid (Andrew) Strange and their children, Philip, Victoria, and Elizabeth (Andrew) Thomson; David (Barb) and their children, Travis (Angel) and Jessica; Doris (Robert) Salmaso; and Alan (Bernadette) and their children, Jesse, Georgia and Hunter; two brothers, Gus (Ruth) and Alfred (Penny); five sisters, Olga Baumann, Erna (John) Straub, Elfrieda Franz, Adeline Didack, and Donna (Vic) Schneider; one sister-in-law, Joan Wahl; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Emil was predeceased by his parents, Gustav and Olga; his step-mother, Bertha; one brother, Erich; one sister, Elli (Gus) Weinheimer; and three brothers-in-law, John Baumann, Nick Didack, and Helmut Franz. Emil was born in Poland on July 27th, 1925. He immigrated to Canada joining his family in Medicine Hat. Emil was a carpenter and a farmer. He was also a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and Choir. Emil will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at ST. PETER LUTHERAN CHURCH, 758 – 8th Street SE, on Friday from 12:30 to 1:25 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at ST. PETER LUTHERAN CHURCH on Friday, October 17th, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Barrett Scheske officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Plot at Hillside Cemetery.
