1927 ~ SUTHERLAND ~ 2014

Robert \”Bob\” James Sutherland, beloved husband of Maude Sutherland of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, December 25th, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Bob also leaves to cherish his memory his children, Frances Sutherland and Bruce (Janet) Sutherland; four grandchildren, Andrew Sutherland, Christie (Andrè) Lefrancois, Kathy (Nick) Roche and Trish (Tim) Getzinger; and nine great-grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Charlotte Sutherland. Bob was born at New Westminster, British Columbia on July 8th, 1927. He served in the military for 36 years from 1947 until 1983. Bob was a member of Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians). He married Maude Henderson on July 7th, 1955 in Aberdeen, Scotland. After retirement, Bob and Maude made Medicine Hat their home. A Come and Go Celebration of Bob\’s Life will be held at the SAAMIS CREEKSIDE CENTRE, 11 Dunmore Road SE, on Friday, January 2nd, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery.
