Armella Catherine Reiter of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late August Reiter, passed away on Monday, December 29th, 2014 at the age of 85 years. Armella leaves to cherish her memory one son, Michael Reiter of Vancouver; three daughters, Loretta (Ernie) Tomyn, Kathleen Wist (Lyle Klug), and Regina \”Jean\” (Ron) Ries, all of Medicine Hat; ten grandchildren, Neil, Russell (Holly), Adrienne (Kirby), Jennifer (Morgan), Kevin (Angela), Mark (Tammy), Rhonda-Lynn (Timm), Dean (Brandy), Karen (Richard), Chris (Kim); nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Dan (Terry) Steiner; two sisters, Louise (Paul) Boscher and Leonilla Fischer; two sisters-in-law, Carole Steiner and Eileen Steiner; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as August\’s extended family, Tom (Angeline), Kay Pfleger, Mary Ehman (Val Reiter). Armella was predeceased by her husband, August on April 9th, 2004; her parents, William and Elizabeth Steiner; five brothers; and one sister. Armella was born on January 18th, 1929 in Englefeld, Saskatchewan where she was raised and educated. Armella married August Jan 20th 1948. She lived and in Englefeld until settling and farming at Raymore, Saskatchewan. In 1956 and \’57 they lived in Medicine Hat but returned to Saskatchewan before making Medicine Hat their home in 1961. Armella\’s hobbies included playing the organ, quilting, knitting, crocheting, doing crafts, playing cards, gardening, camping and fishing. She truly enjoyed the company of her family and friends and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Armella will be lovingly remembered by all. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Saturday from 12:00 to 12:55 p.m. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be said at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Friday, January 2nd, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Philip Le, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Section at Hillside Cemetery.
