DOLLFUSZ, LOTHAR ANTHONYPosted: January 5th, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lothar (Tony) Anthony Dollfusz on December 24, 2014.
He was born in Hamburg, Germany on May 12, 1947. His family moved to Canada in June of 1956 and eventually settled in Bow Island, AB. This is where he met and married his wife Linda on December 11, 1971. They had three and six grandchildren together; Tony (Colleen) and Sparrow and Mia Star, Cathy (Mark) and Conor, Zachary and Mckenna, Jeff (Monique) and Karlee. They raised their family and lived in Fort Saskatchewan, AB for 33 years.
Lothar is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren as well as his sisters; Jutta Thomas and half-brother Josef Dollfusz.
Lothar and Linda enjoyed travelling to many places over the years, and Lothar loved camping, boating, fishing! He was also a member of the ERCS RC Flying Club and the Fort Sask. RC Club, it was a hobby that he did for decades and it gave him a lot of happiness. Lothar was a truck driver for over 30 years and had many adventures and stories to tell.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Pfeifer and the staff at the Fort Saskatchewan Hospital for their extraordinary care and compassion of Lothar in his final days.
He was a husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and a friend. His passing has left a hole in our hearts that will never be filled again. We love you and miss you so very much, may you rest in peace.
A Memorial Service will be held for Lothar at First Memorial Riverview Chapel, 11090-86 Avenue in Fort Saskatchewan on Saturday January 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
