1944 ~ MASER ~ 2015

Larry Maser, beloved companion and best friend of Deb Earl of Redcliff, passed away on Saturday, January 10th, 2015 at the age of 70 years. Larry leaves to cherish his memory his children, Rhonda (Bill) Husty and Terry (Linda) Maser; four grandchildren, Logan Mattson, Robyn Mattson, John Maser and Emily Maser; one sister, Marion Stickel; three sisters-in-law, Bev (Doug) Huckle, Val Gaudet and her son, Tyler and Frances Maser; father-in-law, Gerry Gaudet; Deb\’s family, Denise (Bryce) Kultgen and her children, Brett, Camryn and Madelyn; Jennifer Earl and Calvin (Alicia) Earl and their children, Layton and Kinley; Deb\’s mom, Phyllis Stodolka; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his wife, Carol; his parents, John and Elizabeth Maser; two brothers, Chris (Gloria) Maser and Allan Maser; and four sisters, Gladys (Howard) Maser, Laurine (Albert) Scherer, Jean (Charlie) Bechtold and Edna (Oliver) Nikiel. Larry was born in Medicine Hat and raised in Irvine. He moved to Medicine Hat as a young man and worked numerous jobs including Ogilvie Mills. Larry then took employment with Maser’s Lumber for 35 years until its closing and then moved to Kulpe Lumber until his retirement. He married Carol Gaudet on March 5th, 1966 and together they raised their family in Redcliff. Family meant so very much to Larry. His grandkids meant everything to him and he was so proud of each one of them. Spending time with his family camping and taking yearly trips to Vancouver were special times for Larry. Woodworking and gardening were his passions. After Carol\’s passing in 2004 he was blessed with the companionship and care when he met Deb Earl. This expanded his family and he loved them all. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Thursday, January 15th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. A Private Interment will take place at Redcliff Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Larry\’s memory may be made to 6W Palliative Care Unit, c/o Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation, 666 – 5th Street SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6.
