In 1961, she started working at the Pleasant View Lodge in Bow Island and continued working there until her retirement at the age of 75 years. Bowling was her passion and continued to be her passion until she was 93. Helen loved to crochet and sew, and could make anything by just looking at a picture. She loved her church and was a devote, lifetime member of the CWL. Helens commitment to her faith and health was combined by praying the rosery while riding her exercise bike for thirty minutes every day. Her joy was her family, her home and her flowers. Helens strength and commitment to life and her fighting spirit gave her the independence to live in her home until she was 95 years old. Helens legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
