Zip lived and worked the ranch in Cypress Hills, Saskatchewan, until the mid 60’s,then eventually retiring from the Cypress County as a Pest Control Officer in 1987. 2. Sherri Peterson says:

Uncle Zip was the best story teller. I could sit for hours listening to him. We spent many summers at their ranch. I loved it there. A few years ago I was so thankful to be able to bring my daughter to meet him and Margaret but I had to take a pass on his wine. He was a real cowboy legend to us and always will be. He had a gift of finding good in everything. I know In my heart he is happy to be with his mom and dad and mine. Zip and dad always had a little too much fun when they were together. I love you and will miss your phone calls and letters. Your knowledge of days gone by was priceless. Thank you for being you and standing true to what you believed in.
