Maureen Elliott passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Southwood Hospice in Calgary at the age of 71 years after courageously fighting cancer for 28 months. Maureen was the proud mother of three girls: Elin (Jay) LaForge of Okotoks, AB, Sam (Trever) Miller of Strathmore, AB, and Tara Elliott of Ottawa; and grandmother to Wyatt and Chase LaForge and Aden, Sara, and Mason Miller. Maureen was born in Maple Creek but grew up in Fox Valley and Medicine Hat. She attended the U. of A., graduating in 1964 with a B.Sc. in Math. With her family she moved to the Philippines, and then back to Medicine Hat as her family grew and she moved to Strathmore in 2010. Maureen loved her family, travel, photography & sports. She is pre-deceased by her brother Lynn Lodoen, her father Samuel Andreas Pederson Lodoen, and her mother Mary Theresa Lodoen. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Lord of All Lutheran Church (112 Lakeside Blvd, Strathmore) at 1:30 p.m. To send condolences, please visit Maureen’s obituary at www.wheatlandfuneralhome.ca.

    Maureen was my good friend through high school, university and family life. She was kind , gentle and generous. It was special to share our Scandinavian heritage and to exchange news and visits with our growing families. She was such a loving and proud Mother and Grandmother. I’m happy she moved close to enjoy you all for the last few years.
    She will be greatly missed. My love and condolences go out to you.
