Beatrice Tronrud, the youngest of six children was born September 11th, 1931, on the family farm near Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. As a young girl, Bea attended Leeville School before commencing studies at the Assiniboia Composite High School.

Tory Tronrud met Bea, the love of his life, while they both attended high school. They married happily in 1952 and welcomed three children (Heather, Tory Jr. and Gary) in the following years.

Tory Sr., worked as a banker, allowing Bea and the children the opportunity to experience life in many towns and cities across the prairies, including Lafleche, Rosetown, Swan River, Winnipeg and Medicine Hat. They also enjoyed time in Oshawa and Thunder Bay, Ontario, where Bea, a compassionate woman, trained to become a Registered Nursing Assistant. Her work was invaluable to the many she helped at hospitals in Oshawa and Medicine Hat.

Upon retiring, Bea and Tory began a life of travel, spending the winters in California and summers with children and grandchildren in Canada. Throughout her life, Bea was a constant companion to her husband. They were an inseparable team; together they enjoyed live music, antique cars and travelling. Bea also loved animals, particularly horses and dogs. Her Arabian horses, Pashy, Follie and Amara, brought her much joy, as well as her dogs, Penny and Tussa.

Above all, Bea cherished time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, with a spontaneous, wry sense of humour. She was loved by all of us and will be sadly missed. We shall always remember our precious time together.

Bea was predeceased by her husband, Tory Tronrud; her parents, Simon and Elizabeth Stalker; her brothers, Don and Jack Stalker; and her sisters, Minnie Peterson (Bill) and Winifred Reitan (George). Bea is survived by her three children, Heather Moynihan (Douglas), Tory Tronrud, and Gary Tronrud (Catherine). Bea also left behind four grandchildren, Marc Klein, Karina Klein, Thorold Tronrud and Brigit Tronrud; and her brother, Bruce Stalker of Assiniboia.

A Celebration of Bea’s life will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Saturday, August 1st, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Father John L. Maes officiating. The interment will take place at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery where she will rest alongside her beloved Tory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. A special thanks to the staff of Hogarth Riverview in Thunder Bay for the wonderful care Bea received.
