It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Octave Joseph Hemminger of Coleman, Alberta who passed away at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre on August 1, 2015 at the age of 67 years.

Gerry loved exploring the mountainous backcountry and watching the wildlife of the area. Gerry was proud of his family and loved them unconditionally. A man of unique quality and character, he was often an inspiration to us and will be dearly missed.

Gerry is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Hemminger of Coleman, AB; his son Cameron Hemminger; his daughter, Colette (Jim) Grant; his step sons, Ben Singh, Rueben (Erna) Singh and Gerald Singh; his twelve grandchildren; his step-father, Jim Ronellenfitch; his brother, Dale (Suzie) Hemminger; his sisters, Doris (Steve) Watson and Darlene Adams; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cathy and John Singh and his extended family as well as the many friends he made throughout his lifetime. He was predeceased by his parents, Adam Hemminger and Aurora Ronellenfitch.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Fantin’s Funeral Chapel in Blairmore, AB (13461-20Avenue).

Donations in memory of Gerry will be gratefully accepted by the Hillcrest Fish and Game Protective Association (P. O. Box 125, Hillcrest, AB T0K 1C0) or Ducks Unlimited (200, 10720 – 178 St., Edmonton, AB T5S 1J3).

    My condolences to Brenda Hemminger. Uncle Gerry will be well missed. Although I did not see him much, I will always remember coming to visit and all of us having a water fight in the house, that great big smile he had and the joy he showed in life. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. He’s now in a better place, and will get to spend time with grandma. Love you keep your head held high. <3
