Reesor, Franklin James – 88, a long-time resident of both Pembroke, Hants Co., NS and Dartmouth, NS, died on August 16, 2015 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, NS. Born in Walsh, Alberta on May 1, 1927, he was a son of the late Frank and Elena Hazel (Stoddart) Reesor. His mother was born in Springfield, NS, and Frank had many relatives in both Nova Scotia and Alberta. Frank was raised on a cattle ranch, served 25 years in the Canadian Navy (CNAG), then taught junior high school for 17 years in Dartmouth. He was involved in many community organizations including Home & School, Red Cross, Lifesaving Society, Cancer Society, CNAG and Dartmouth General Hospital Guild. Frank is survived by son Ian (Heather), Clarence NS; daughters Susan (Ron) Trueman, Pointe de Butte, NB, and Sandra, Pembroke, NS; foster daughter Susan Randall, Dartmouth, NS; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Doris Ingrid (Kierstenson); brothers, David Milton in infancy, William Keith and Robert Alan. A private family interment will be held in the Pembroke Cemetery. Dad loved life and music — in keeping with his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 13 at the Walton Shore Fire Hall in Walton, NS from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend the celebration and dance for all ages with music by Meredith McCulloch. You are encouraged to bring memories and stories to share – if you knew Dad we’d love to see you there. Please come join us – if you don’t dance you can tap your toes! If you can’t make it, have a toast to good life and a dance in his memory.
