LILLIAN ‘LIL’ EREMENKO (nee, SLOBODIN)

Lil passed away October 2, 2015 at the age of 95, in Moose Jaw. Lil was one of the last Ukrainian of her generation who grew up in the Downie Lake Arbana district southwest of Maple Creek. Lil is predeceased by her husband John P. Eremenko in 1993 and eight of her siblings. Lil is survived by one sister Connie Sheardown, left to mourn are her children Joan (Dan), Diane (Gerald), and Ron; grandchildren Wendy, Carrie (Dwayne), Alison, Chris, Todd and Janet; and nine great- grandchildren. A Service of Remembrance will be held Wednesday October 7, at 10am, at the W.J. Jones & Son Chapel. Reverend Deacon Arlene Champion will officiate. Interment will take place at Maple Creek Community Cemetery at 3pm that afternoon. There will be a reception at Maple Creek Senior Center following the interment. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of choice. In living memory of Lillian, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.     So sorry for you loss of your mom. Aunt lily always had a smile that would light up a room. I remember her and uncle john playing cards with grandma and grandpa. Enjoy all your great Memories and I hope we can enjoy all the great traditions and recipes they made for us to enjoy.
