Bailey Obit
1928 ~ 2015

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Lea Ann Ingrid Bailey, on Monday, October 26, 2015, in the comfort of her home at the age of 87 years. Lea was born in Kamio, Finland on July 7, 1928, to Viljo and Agnes Sikila. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always found the best in people and always had a kind word. Lea had a passion for travel and with her husband, Ken, were frequent visitors to Florida. Her absolute favorite place was on the white sand beaches with her toes dipped in the ocean while watching the sun set. Lea was always remembered as a kind business owner who touched the hearts of many of her clients. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth; their children, Leslie Worley, Allyson (Hugh) MacKay, Mark (Joanne) Bailey, Richard (Debi) Bailey; six grandchildren, Nathan (Stephanie) Bailey, Logan (Kaytlin) Bailey, Laura Bailey, Iain Worley, Derek MacKay and Andrew MacKay; two great-grandchildren, Aidyn Bailey and Abigail “Abby” Bailey; several brothers and sisters-in-law as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Kaija Parnoja. Lea will be sadly missed by her many friends and extended family members. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the Palliative physicians, nurses and Home Care nurses for your professionalism and kindness. We were sincerely moved by the selfless attention you provided to Lea throughout her journey. Additional thanks to the staff at MHRH and St. Joseph’s Home who provided personal attention, kindness and support to our mother and family.
